Michèle
Hillgarth
Michèle studied art, design and architecture
at the Marseille University of Beaux Arts, where she developed her
talent for display,
decoration and presentation.
She moved to UK and quickly identified the market
for high quality, low maintenance botanical decoration for commercial
offices, halls and galleries. She began by importing artificial
plants, flowers and leaves from France and the Orient. These she
interwove with natural branches in a creative and artistic presentation
that
defined her unique style.
Her developing reputation and her
flair for business brought her in contact with architects, designers
and interior decorators in London. Soon she was supplying top clients
throughout the UK. By 1980 her displays graced the Royal Opera House,
The Bank of England, Buckingham Palace, The BBC, Harvey Nichols
and Harrods.
She opened her shop in London's
prestigious Walton Street and then turned her attention to the developing
needs of the Middle East. She worked for Arab and Western clients
throughout the region. She was employed by the Islamic Bank in the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and designed exhibition and presentation
displays for public events in Jeddah, Riyadh, Al Khobar and Dhahran.
She worked for clients in Jordan,
Bahrain, Kuwait and Dubai while maintaining her London base, and
promoting the high creative standards which were her hallmark.
Now broadening her commercial horizons,
she enjoys promoting international artists and bringing them together
with her broad client base. To this end she is presenting the work
of two well respected Bahraini artists in London in October 2003.
